Saint Louis, Senegal

After much prayer and research, SSCC has followed God’s leading to the country of Senegal in Africa. Missions work will take place in partnership with Shore to Shore Missions Network, a nonprofit missions group started by John Littlefield. John was the coordinator and one of the team leader on all of past missions trips.

SSMN was established to meet the broader needs of the developing community. Expanding beyond a medical focus we desire to create sustainable change in a community by incorporating such things as water management, public health, microfinance, education and spiritual direction. By partnering with local leaders, non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) and the people in our own community, SSMN aims to develop a network of volunteers, supporters and skilled professionals whose goal is to address the underlying causes of poverty in a developing community.

We are excited to have developed a partnership in the city of Saint Louis, Senegal. Community development efforts will focus on the poorest neighborhood where a handful of local Senegal nationals have begun a small medical clinic and a job training program.

This is a tremendous opportunity for us to participate in bringing practical solutions and hope to a population that is caught in a cycle of poverty and despair.

The group has already taken 2 visionary trips to carefully explore how it is that SSCC and SSMN can partner with the already established CM&A missionary groups in Senegal. Unlike the past strictly medical trips, the future teams will serve in a variety of additional ways including construction, education, and economic development.

Quito, Ecuador

In previous years, SSCC partnered with a church in Quito, Ecuador, but the CMA is closing the field in Ecuador. SSCC organized and sent 3 medical mission teams from 2005-2007 to assist the local church and missionaries in underserved and impoverished areas. We have partnered with the local church, local missionaries and national Christian medical professionals to assist them in their mission to reach out spiritually, emotionally and physically to the poor in their country.

We have partnered with La Luz, a CMA church in Ecuador, for our three medical trips to the region. To date we have treated well over 5000 people in the areas of dentistry, general medicine and optometry and have delivered over $50,000 in purchased and donated medicines and supplies. Over 60 people from SSCC and their friends have participated. We have raised over $110,000 to cover the expenses of the team and those of our national hosts.

We have seen 100’s of decisions for Christ and a new church planted in Sigsipamba, Ecuador as a direct result of these medical mission clinics. In addition we have seen life change and a renewed heart for missions in our own team members and congregation.
